In Alsace, and more specifically on the M35, a new carpool radar will soon be installed. We explain to you.
For the past few months, the government has made carpooling its hobbyhorse, with the backing of all kinds of announcements and financial incentives. For the record, it is indeed always possible to take advantage of a check for up to 200 euros for any new registration on a dedicated application. Subject to making all the same a certain number of journeys in the following three months. According to the State, sharing one’s journey has many advantages, starting with the reduction of polluting gas emissions. In addition, it would also consume less fuel, while the price of the latter is very high.

But the government wants to go even further. The latter indeed wishes to generalize the reserved lanes to this practice, particularly on the Paris ring road. But not only. Indeed, several highways should also be affected, such as the M35 in Alsace, which connects Ostwald to Schitigheim in the Bas-Rhin. On this road, a lane dedicated to carpooling will be set up. And beware of those who dare not respect it, because radars will be installed to monitor everything. The first will soon be inaugurated, during the month of September. The goal ? Make sure that single motorists do not use this reserved lane.
But rest assured for now. Indeed, the radar will first be only in test phase, for a period of one month. This means that during this period, you will not be able to receive a ticket in the event of non-compliance. But then, you can indeed be fined, with a fine of 90 euros. The Europole in charge of managing this system explains that ” the radar will take photos which will then be manually analyzed by a municipal police officer“. No question of trying to deceive the device then!
