Audi delivers FC Bayern Munich’s new cars

The football team of FC Bayern Munich received its new company cars for the 2023/2024 season from its official partner, Audi. Employees of the German manufacturer handed them the keys to all-electric models at the Audi Piazza in Ingolstadt, while the renovated cars of the stars from the previous season will soon be put back on sale as used vehicles.

FC Bayern Munich: 100% electric models for players

From models delivered to players, we find the Audi RS E-tron GT, the Audi Q8 E-tron, the Audi Q8 Sportback E-tron, as well as the Audi Q4 Sportback E-tron. The most popular model among FC Bayern Munich players is the Audi RS E-tron GT, which was chosen by twelve players, including Thomas Müller, Leroy Sané and Joshua Kimmich.

The Audi RS E-tron GT delivers a total power of 598 horsepower, and sprints from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.3 seconds. Its high-voltage battery offers a range of 488 km, and recharges quickly thanks to 800-volt technology. The German club has an optimal e-mobility infrastructure, with 38 charging stations installed on the club grounds in Säbener Straße, and more than 20 charging stations at the Allianz Arena.

THE players cars from the previous season will soon be resold as used vehicles : customers will receive a certificate of authenticity and a jersey signed by the previous owner. Among the reconditioned cars that will be for sale, there are in particular several Audi RS E-tron GTs, having notably belonged to Serge Gnabry and Leon Goretzka. Interested buyers will be able to submit a reservation request at the next IAA Mobility trade fair in Munich, which will take place from September 5 to September 10, 2023.

Meetings with football fans

When handing over the keys to the vehicles, which took place on August 23, 2023, about thirty employees of the brand had the opportunity to meet the stars of the German champion club. Employees’ children also lined up along the players’ path to the delivery location. The football stars took the time to sign autographs, but also to take selfies with their fans.

The team then took a behind-the-scenes tour of Audi’s headquarters in Ingolstadt, including the assembly line, the body shop, the lighting support center, and even the wind tunnel center. The German site is currently preparing for series production of the Audi Q6 E-tron.

Audi is partner of FC Bayern Munich since 2002, a partnership which was recently extended until 2029. Since 2021, the brand has also been a partner of the FC Bayern women’s team, and has also renewed this agreement at least until 2025. Since 2011, Audi is also shareholder of FC Bayern München AG.
