Tesla offers to control its cars with an iPhone and Siri

In recent days, Tesla has updated its iPhone application, introducing a rather interesting new feature: support for quick commands, the iOS automation tool allowing you to chain several actions, which can also be managed by voice.

But what does that mean? In fact, it’s quite simple, since Tesla users and owners can take advantage of various controls and automations to control different functions, including managing the air conditioning or unlocking the car doors, with a simple “Hey Siri, open the car”.

With this new update, communication between Teslas and iPhones is even better. As stated, the Tesla app for iOS now offers a number of commands to remotely manage the car and many of its functions.

This ranges from locking/unlocking the doors to starting/stopping the air conditioning to heat or cool the passenger compartment, through the management of Sentinel mode to activate or deactivate the security cameras and the control of Dog mode which allows you to leave the air conditioning on when there are animals on board.

From the iPhone application, it is also possible to activate the seat heating, open and close the windows, turn on the lights or sound the horn, open the trunk, and even manage the charging functions: including starting or stopping charging.

More convenience in everyday life

It is also possible to configure certain more or less complex commands so that they are executed in a synchronized waye. For example, saying “Hey Siri, open the car”it is also possible to start the air conditioning, or to use voice commands to open the trunk.

Thanks to the Tesla app’s integration with iOS Quick Commands, it’s also possible to set up jobs automatically using geolocation, so your gate opens automatically when you get home.

The update is available since August 19 on the App Store in France, described as follows: “Access your vehicle’s controls and climate from the Apple Shortcuts app”.
