The German manufacturer Mercedes-Benz will open the first stations of its network of high-power fast charging stations for this fall of 2023.
As part of its goal to expand its global charging infrastructure, Mercedes-Benz will inaugurate its first fast charging stationsequipped with high-power charging stations, for this fall: fromOctober 2023the first Mercedes-Benz charging stations will go into service in Atlanta (USA), Chengdu (China) and Mannheim (Germany).
By the end of 2024, Mercedes aims to expand its global network of fast charging stations to more than 2,000 high power charging points. The long-term objective is to create, by the end of the decade, more than 2,000 charging centers, to a total of more than 10,000 charging points.
With its charging network Mercedes-Benz Charging Hubs, the German manufacturer is setting new standards in fast, convenient and sustainable charging for electric vehicles. The charging points will offer a charging power of up to up to 400kWand will be equipped with standard connectors Combo CCS1, Combo CCS2, NACS et GB/T. Thanks to intelligent charging management, each vehicle can be charged at its maximum power, in order to reduce the charging time for customers to a minimum.
Mercedes chose the location of its charging stations with the desire to offer pleasant and safe customer experience. Mercedes-Benz Charging Hubs charging stations will be located near major traffic arteries as well as at select Mercedes-Benz dealerships, and will offer amenities such as refreshments, snacks and washrooms.
Pour Ensure the security, the charging stations will be equipped with surveillance cameras, while smart streetlights will illuminate the station and provide information on the availability of the charging station and the state of charge of the vehicle. Some charging centers will also have awnings, to provide protection from the elements.
With the development of its Mercedes-Benz high-power charging network, the German firm is expanding its existing offering, including the European fast-charging network Ionity, as well as the recently announced joint venture with six other OEMs to expand the charging infrastructure in North America. This high-power charging network is a key element of the global electrification strategy the Mercedes-Benz Mobility.
