Bison Futé: traffic forecasts for the weekend of September 1, 2023

Discover Bison Futé’s traffic forecast for this summer vacation weekend, from Friday September 1 to Sunday September 3, 2023.

The coming weekend will be marked by the end of the summer 2023 school holidays in France. This will therefore be an opportunity for many motorists to hit the road during this weekend, with significant migratory flows to be expected on the main axes of the country, mainly in the direction of returns from the south or the coastal zones towards the large metropolises.

Travelers will indeed be numerous on the roads of France, if we are to believe the forecasts of smart one : the small Indian specialist in road traffic foresees that the first difficulties will arise from the day of Friday, September 1st.

Bison Futé: a holiday weekend on the French roads

Indeed, Friday, September 1 will be a difficult day, with classified traffic ORANGE at the national level in the sense of returns. In Île-de-France, traffic will be difficult between the start of the afternoon and the start of the evening, especially on the A10 motorway from Saint-Arnoult-en-Yvelines to Paris. The combination of recent returns from vacation and work-home journeys could accentuate these difficulties. Traffic should be very difficult in the afternoon in the Rhône-Alpes-Auvergne region on the A7 motorway between Orange and Lyon. In terms of departures, no major difficulty is to be expected at the national level.

The difficulties will continue throughout the day of Saturday September 2, with classified traffic ORANGE at the national level in the sense of returns. In Île-de-France, traffic will be complicated between late morning and evening, especially on the A10 motorway from Saint-Arnoult-en-Yvelines to Paris. Traffic should also be very difficult in the Rhône-Alpes-Auvergne region on the A7 motorway between Orange and Lyon, between noon and the end of the day.

Traffic will calm down on Sunday September 3, and Bison Futé no longer foresees major periods of disruption on the road until the next holidays: those of All Saints’ Day, which will begin on October 21, 2023.
