The Évreux police had a nice surprise during the night between Saturday August 26 and Sunday August 27. By questioning the driver of a Peugeot 3008 who had refused to submit to a check, the police quickly understood that he had something to blame himself for. Indeed, his car was declared stolen, after this motorist refused to return it to the rental agency the day before.

He does not return the rental car

It was around 11 p.m. when the Évreux Anti-Crime Squad intervened to catch the driver who had refused to comply. Thereafter, he took the direction of a hamlet not far from there, in Guichainville. But he took it very badly, because he found himself stuck in a cul-de-sac. Panicked, he first hit a stone before bouncing off a pole. In order to complete his mad race, he damaged the police car wanting to make a U-turn. In view of the elements of the investigation, he is at great risk for his car theft, his driving without a license, his refusal to comply and his accident with the police…

38 years old, the driver did not have a driving license. As for the car he was driving, it was a vehicle rented from a dealer in Évreux the day before. But this thief had not seen fit to bring him back on the agreed date. The car was then declared stolenlogically.

Once his police custody ended, the individual who was driving was presented as part of an immediate appearance before the judicial court of Évreux, Monday August 28, 2023. The sanction imposed on him did not not been disclosed. As for the passenger, he was not worried because he was exonerated.
