This Jaguar E-Type exceeds the million euros!

It must be said that this is the very first copy with right-hand drive and a hardtop! Result, Gooding & Company assesses its value between 1.16 and 1.63 million euros!

This Jaguar E-Type from 1961 may well become one of the most expensive felines of all time. And for good reason, This is the very first hardtop, right-hand-drive example of the English sports car! It should be noted, however, that this is not the car that made the trip from England to Switzerland in one night for the Geneva Motor Show. This vehicle was indeed a pre-production vehicle, whereas the English car you have in front of you is indeed the first production car.

A 6-cylinder in line of 265 hp

Completely restored recently, this Jaguar E-Type still displays its original color, but especially its legendary 6-cylinder in line 3.8 liters! As at the time of its launch, this sublime mechanism develops again and again 265 hp. It is associated with a four-speed manual gearbox to allow the English coupe to display a timed 0 to 100 km/h in less than 7 seconds. Not bad, especially for the 60s! Quite rare for a vehicle of this era, this English car also knew how to stop since it is equipped with 4 disc brakes.

“The most beautiful car in the world”

The Jaguar E-Type is also a true legend of the automotive world. Remember that a certain Enzo Ferrari still qualified it as “the most beautiful car in the world”! And he was far from the only one to think so since great icons of the time also had one. Steve McQueen or Franck Sinatra, to name but two, both drove a copy of the English sports car.

Between 1.16 and 1.63 million euros!

This historic copy of the English sports car will go under the auction hammer of Gooding & Company on 1is next september. But it is better to have a hell of a wallet and a well-stocked bank account if you even want to participate in this sale which promises to be memorable. And for good reason, experts assess the value of this exceptional example between 1,000,000 and 1,400,000 pounds sterling! At the current exchange rate, this represents a sum of between 1.16 and 1.63 million euros! When we told you that this 1961 E-Type jaguar could well become one of the most expensive felines of all time…
