It all started when a resident of Gruissan called the police to find his car, stolen while he was sunbathing on the beach. He had however left the keys to his pick-up at the locker service… But when he came to pick up his car, it had disappeared. He then quickly filed a complaint and started looking for his vehicle. To do this, he followed the radars present in his car to locate it: “He notices that his vehicle is traveling on the A75 and is progressing on the RD809 in the direction of Millau to finally stop on avenue Jean-Jaurès in the city center”says the national police of Millau.

An unwelcome break

Indeed, the thief needed to take a break on the way, between the south and Paris. It is near Millau that he is expected by the police, when he leaves the bar: “After 45 minutes of waiting, they find that a man rushes into the vehicle to leave”, quotes a police source. Caught in the act, the culprit is arrested by the patrol.

After a thorough check, the police discover that he lives in Nanterre and that he is 40 years old. According to him, he wanted to return to the Paris region without spending any money. He then decided to steal a car. This individual was obviously placed in pre-trial detention after custody. It was the public prosecutor who requested his placement, pending his judgment, on August 29. In the end, this getaway can cost him much more than expected…
