Tesla does it again baffling price swings. The Tesla Model S and X have just lost 12,000 and 13,500 euros respectively in one night.
The big sale continues at Tesla? After the price drop on the Model 3 a few months ago (preparing the arrival of the new Highland model) and the one already orchestrated on the Model S and X, these are the two top-of-the-range models that have once again seen their prices melt like snow in the sun.
Let’s say that when they returned to the French catalog at the start of the year, Tesla had not been there with the back of the spoon. 113,990 for a Tesla Model S Grande Autonomie, 138,990 euros for a 1020 hp Plaid, 121,990 euros for a Model X and 141,990 euros for its Plaid version. Last April, all these prices fell by 10,000 euros, before being readjusted afterwards.
But today, Tesla is still generously cutting its prices. The Model S Grande Autonomie, displayed at 106,490 euros again yesterday, now costs 94 990 euros, while the Plaid claims 109,990 euros. Compared to its arrival on the market, the price of the most powerful Tesla has dropped by 29,000 euros.
The Model X is not immune to this spectacular price drop, since it is displayed at 99 990 eurosa sudden drop of 13,500 euros, while the Plaid version is displayed at 114,990 euros against 131,990 euros a few hours earlier.
In terms of price reduction, Tesla often goes very hard with quite spectacular reductions which often worry buyers fearing for the residual value of their model. All this without counting that within a few weeks, often, they could have saved a few thousand euros.
On the other hand, when Tesla raises its prices, it is also spectacular, but a little more gradual. We remember in particular the very large price increase of the Tesla Model 3 in 2022, with a cumulative increase of 13,000 euros (including the end of the ecological bonus) over several months.
