This new electric car is available on Alibaba for 1,100 euros

Of course, at this price, there are some concessions to be made for an electric car, and these are sometimes quite surprising.

The Chinese e-commerce site Alibaba is full of low-cost, low-power, low-range electric cars similar to our “license-free” cars, all with slightly extravagant styles.

Sometimes, there are also interesting “real” cars, offered at unbeatable prices. This is the case of the Wuling Bingo, a model displayed at only 1,199 dollars (about 1,100 euros).

An electric car with not-so-ridiculous features

It’s about a electric car four doors which costs, at the base, 8,700 dollars (8,000 euros), all with a 31 kWh battery and a range of 330 km.

But looking a little closer, it’s impossible to shell out just $1,199 for this model. Between the “hidden costs” (not to say the essential options), the accessories to add and, above all, the fact that it is necessary to order, at least, two carswe arrive at more than four times the initial price.

Too many compromises?

That being said, the car in question isn’t entirely uninteresting. It is produced by a brand behind which is a joint venture between SAIC and General Motors.

This car is just under four meters long, around 40 hp for its basic version and is equipped with a 17.3 kWh battery and a range of 200 km. The more “top-of-the-range” version has the right to a 68 hp engine, a battery with a capacity of 31.9 kWh and a range of 330 km according to the NEDC cycle.

It is not uncommon to find offers as incredible as implausible on this e-commerce site, but it will however be necessary to make some compromises.
