For the start of the school year, Toyota is committed to and participates in several charities to help children and students in need.
While the summer school holidays are coming to an end and motorists are expected in large numbers on the roads of France for this last weekend of summer holidays, preparations for the Back to School are continuing around the world.
On the other side of the Atlantic, Toyota highlights the implications of its employees withcharitiesto help children and students in need.
For the second consecutive year, Toyota supported the Kids In Need Foundation (KINF) for the “Big Summer Giveback”, a nationwide operation that offered Toyota customers the opportunity to donate $3 to the “Supply a Student” program of KINF, during their interview meeting in August 2023.
The program helps provide school supplies to children in underfunded elementary schools across the United States. In total, no less than 429 Toyota dealerships gathered over $600,000, and 21 of those dealers have each donated at least $10,000. This action made it possible to reach more than 24,000 pupils in primary school : dealers will hand-deliver their backpacks full of school supplies to students at an elementary school in their city.
“Toyota is pleased to announce our continued support of KINF for the second year of our Big Summer Giveback campaign”said Mark Nazario, Vice President Customer Experience and Loyalty at Toyota Motor North America: “Together, we are committed to empowering students in underfunded schools nationwide, ensuring that every child receives an equal opportunity to thrive in their classroom. »
Employees of the Japanese manufacturer also volunteered during this summer to fill backpacks with school suppliesduring an event at Toyota’s US headquarters in Plano, Texas.
The social innovation non-profit Team IMPACT organized an event during the month of June 2023, during which 76 volunteers prepared 450 backpacks. They were delivered in July to the Boys and Girls Club, a charity in Collin County, Texas.
Also during the month of July, 17 Toyota employees have filled more than 300 backpacks at Community Partners of Dallas: this event was also organized by Social Innovation and Team IMPACT.
