Porsche 911: Puma sneakers for its 60th anniversary

The German manufacturer is launching, in partnership with the brand of sneakers Puma, two pairs of collector’s shoes in the colors of its famous Porsche 911.

After collaborating with the Third Reich, Porsche wanted to redeem a reputation in 1963 with the launch of the Porsche 911 : successful bet since this coupé has now become an iconic model throughout the world, and the Stuttgart firm is therefore celebrating its 60th birthday This year.

In addition to the launch of the limited series Porsche 911 S/T, the German manufacturer has entered into a partnership with the famous sportswear brand, to launch two special editions of Puma sneakers, limited and numberedwhich will be marketed at the Munich Motor Show: the “Retro Sneaker” symbolizes the past and the “Heritage Sneaker” the present of the 911.

Puma Porsche 911 sneakers: two new models

The « Retro Sneaker » is characterized by the classic narrow and flat silhouette of the 1972 Porsche 911 S 2.5, with a color scheme in light blue, inspired by the exterior color of the historic vehicle. The model also wears the number 56 on the back, while suede inserts complement the smooth leather yokes and tongue, as well as the red contrast stitching in a retro look.

This sneaker is limited to 1,972 copies, in reference to the year of launch of the vehicle: each model will bear its number on the back of a leather tab attached to the side of the shoe, with Porsche lettering on the top. We also find the round commemorative logo of the 60 years of the Porsche 911 on a black woven label, on the insole, as well as on a removable brown leather label.

A limited and numbered edition

The « Heritage Sneaker » has a more modern and sporty silhouette, with a color palette inspired by the new Porsche 911 S/T, with a gray tint for the smooth leather of the shoe, and a cognac brown tint for the interior lining. The model bears the number 63 on the back, in reference to the year of birth of the Porsche 911, as well as the Porsche inscription.

This model is limited to 1,963 copies : the numbering is found on a textile label inside the tongue, which bears the pattern of the vehicle’s seats. The round logo of the 60 years of the Porsche 911 is meanwhile in color, and is found on the tongue, a removable label made from the outer leather of the shoe, or the insole.

The left shoe of both sneaker models has a red lace, while the right shoe has a black lace: a second pair of laces also comes in the box to match the look of the shoe, as does a carrying bag.

These two models of limited edition Puma sneakers will be available for exclusive presale from September 5, 2023 at Pop-up store Porsche du Salon de Munichthen available to order from September 6 on the brand’s website, in the Porsche Museum store in Stuttgart, in the Porsche factory stores in Zuffenhausen and Weissach, or on the Puma.com site from from September 24, 2023 in Europe.
