Lexus RZ: 5 stars in Euro NCAP safety tests

The new Lexus RZ has just obtained the highest score possible in Euro NCAP safety tests, earning a 5-star rating.

EuroNCAPthe European car safety assessment body, has submitted the Lexus RZ to its usual demanding tests of crash test : the new 100% electric SUV has just obtained the maximum score of five stars.

In detail, the Lexus RZ scored 87% for adult protection, 87% for child protection, 84% for vulnerable road users (pedestrians and cyclists), not to mention 81% for safety systems. driving assistance.

Lexus RZ: good results rewarded by Euro NCAP

Overall, the new RZ got an average of 84% of the points possible, a very good result considering the severity of the new Euro NCAP crash test protocols. The European organization particularly praised its innovations in terms of active safety:

“The Lexus RZ meets Euro NCAP expectations by providing good overall crash protection for passengers of different ages and sizes. The car is also equipped with the latest anti-collision systems and features several new active safety innovations. The RZ is the first car to be awarded Euro NCAP for Child Presence Sensing Technology under the latest 2023 scoring criteria (…) The Child Presence Sensing system warns when a child or infant could have been forgotten in the car and can therefore potentially save lives in hot weather”Euro NCAP said in a statement.

An excellent level of security

The all-electric Lexus RZ has a strong platform and body, with a battery built into the chassis, and offers a good level of passive safety, notably with its nine airbags as standard. Like all models in the Lexus lineup, the RZ comes standard with the Lexus Safety System + of the third generation, which includes a set of safety systems and driving aids.

This safety pack includes in particular the pre-collision system with radar and camera, making it possible to detect oncoming vehicles, motorcycles, cyclists and pedestrians, lane departure warning, lane keeping system , dynamic radar cruise control with curve speed reduction function, emergency stop system in case of driver discomfort, as well as proactive driving assistance.

The Japanese manufacturer promises, with the Lexus RZ, one of the safest vehicles on the road on the market.
