Nissan Qashqai restyled: what we already know

Expected for next year, the new Nissan Qashqai is slowly starting to give us some information.

It has only been three years since the current generation of Nissan Qashqai was officially launched, which is still relatively short on the scale of a car’s life. For the record, it was in 2021 that the SUV was marketed, in the heart of the Covid-19 pandemic, which obviously did not necessarily help to get off to a good start. This was felt in sales, which were quite low compared to forecasts, although things then improved considerably over time. But today, it’s already time for renewal for one of the Japanese manufacturer’s bestsellers. Indeed, the latter is already preparing his mid-career restyling.

A modernized style

And the least we can say is that the SUV nippon will have a lot to do, facing the Renault Austral and other future Peugeot 3008. Unsurprisingly, the restyled Qashqai should then evolve its style and modernize, drawing its inspiration from the Pathfinder concept unveiled last April in China. The features should then gain in dynamism and modernity, with all new optics. But for the moment, nothing has yet been confirmed by the manufacturer, which is very tight-lipped on the subject. No photo has yet been shown, nor even a teaser pending its next reveal.

And under the hood?

For the moment, nothing is sure yet, but the 140 and 158 horsepower engines may be dropped from the range, due to environmental standards. Not a word on a possible electric version, which would not be on the agenda, the brand already focusing on its Ariya. It remains to be seen when this restyled Qashqai will be officially unveiled, but it may be done at the next Tokyo Motor Show which will take place next October. Its marketing should take place at the beginning of the year 2024.
