Polestar Synergy: an electric supercar at the 2023 Munich Motor Show

The Swedish manufacturer unveiled the Polestar Synergy at the 2023 Munich Motor Show, an electric supercar concept, winner of the latest Polestar Design Contest.

The Polestar Synergy is an electric supercar concept that combines the design of three winning models in the last competition Polestar Design Contest, which gathered more than 600 applications. Participants had to imagine the style of a Polestar focused on the performance experience.

“This year, the story is as much about collaboration as it is about performance. I am proud that the team was able to guide and support the winners in realizing their dream, with a life-size model. It’s not often that student designers get such exposure early in their careers, something the Polestar design community on Instagram does so well, amplified this year by the 1:1 scale model and its planned tour of Polestar sites around the world »declared Maximillian Missoni, head of design at Polestar, on this occasion.

Polestar Synergy: three winners for one project

After pre-selecting ten designs, the jury selected two winners for the exterior style, and one winner for the interior design: a first for this annual competition organized by the Swedish firm. This Polestar Synergy is the result of more than 6 months of collaboration between the winners and the Polestar Design team, who helped turn these three dreams into a reality.

The final design of this supercar is inspired by nature and sustainability, with a single-seater floating interior design, which places the driving position in its center. The Polestar Synergy is being presented at Polestar Space at the 2023 Munich Motor Show, before being exhibited at other events in the future.

THE two winners for exterior design, Devashish Deshmukh and Swapnil Desai, are based in France, in Paris. Deshmukh’s design focused on hollowed-out volumes, inspired by a hammerhead shark, while Desai’s design was themed around emotional durability, with technical scalability and materials that age gracefully over time. THE interior designerYingxiang Li, is based in China and has created a cockpit with a performance-oriented seating position, which emphasizes the driving experience, comfort and floating controls.

A 100% electric supercar

The car features proportions and details never before seen for Polestar: spanning just 1.07 meters high and 4.56 meters longit aims to prove to the public that electric supercars can be as exciting as their thermal counterparts.

The Polestar Synergy can be found at the Munich Motor Show, which opens its doors from September 5 to 10, 2023. It will then leave for the United States, and will notably be exhibited at the Hot Wheels Legends Tour in El Segundo, California, from October 7, 2023, before continuing its American tour.
