Lotus continues its major transformation towards electric mobility. After the Evija supercar and the Eletre SUV, here is the Emeya sedan, a new major rival to the Porsche Taycan Turbo S…
It is a manufacturer that we spontaneously associate with small, light sports carsto competition cars and the pleasure of pure, unfussy motoring. Lotus, famous British brand, has made us dream in the past with its Seven, Elise, Esprit or more recently Evora. Models which all followed the “Light is right” credo of their founder Colin Chapman. Power and lightness. But times change, and so does Lotus… Since 2017, it has belonged to the Chinese automobile group Geely, which made it take a historic turn. This time, it’s rather the Porsche Taycan Turbo S which is targeted! It is equipped with a front vent and a rear spoiler which both evolve electronically to improve aerodynamics. Finally, its 100 kWh battery allows it to last for 600 kilometers on a single charge. Thanks to its 800V architecture, it offers a record charging time: 150 kilometers recovered in just 5 minutes, with a peak charge of 350 kW! She will produced in Wuhan, China alongside the Eletre, at roughly equivalent prices, i.e. around €98,000. That’s €100,000 less than an equivalent Porsche Taycan Turbo S, that’s going to hurt…
