Tesla Model 2: with a design very close to the Cybertruck?

Tesla’s present is the Cybertruck and the “new” Model 3. But Elon Musk’s firm is also working on the future, starting with the new platform which will give life to the next generation of electric cars of the Californian brand, notably the highly anticipated Model 2 for less than $25,000.

According to the specialized site TeslaratiTesla plans to start production in its Gigafactory in Austin, alongside the famous 100% autonomous robotaxis promised by Elon Musk.

Two models from the future

Both will be produced on a large scale and should adopt a minimalist look, very similar to that of the Cybertruckwith square and futuristic lines.

Walter Isacsson, Elon Musk’s biographer, also recalls a statement made by the leader in which he announced that “Anyone who sees the Model 2 will think it comes from the future”.

What will differentiate the two models will likely be the cockpit, with the robotaxi having no steering or pedals and only being available for transport services.

See you in 2025?

As stated above, production is expected to start in Austin in the near future, between 2024 and 2025. Subsequently, Tesla will democratize the production processes of the Texan factory and adapt them to different factories around the world. These should include the Mexico plant and the Nuevo Leon plant, the foundation stone of which, however, has not yet been laid.

Announced last March, the construction of this factory was planned for the summer of 2023, with a total investment of 10 billion dollars (9 billion euros). The production target has been set at at least one million vehicles per year, which should be precisely the target set by Tesla for the Model 2 and robotaxis.
