Audi Sport celebrates its 40th anniversary with a somewhat special RS e-tron GT
Audi has just expanded the catalog of its e-tron GT with a special edition developed as part of the celebrations of the 40th anniversary of Audi Sport.
Audi celebrates the 40th this yearth anniversary of Audi Sport GmbH, formerly known as quattro GmbH. For the occasion, the brand is unveiling a limited series of its sports electric sedan, called RS e-tron GT Ice Race Edition.
The inspiration behind this special edition is rooted in the history of the GP Ice Race, a motoring event that debuted in Zell am See, Austria in 1952, and was successfully relaunched in 2019 on the same site.
The perfect electric Audi for the mountains?
This unique competition is derived from Scandinavian skijoring, featuring racing cars pulling skiers at high speed across the ice. To design the RS e-tron GT Ice Race, Audi designers were inspired by the topography and colors of Mankeian alpine pasture located along the Grossglockner Alpine Road near Zell am See.
The Audi RS e-tron GT Ice Race Edition sports a main livery in Fleuret Silver Metallic, accentuated by touches of white and purple accents, reminiscent of ski goggles. The car also features 21-inch black wheels, a black carbon fiber reinforced plastic (CFRP) roof and tinted windows.
The interior reflects the same sophisticated aesthetic with Diamond Silver leather seats, combined with black leather accents and purple contrast stitching. A new leather and Alcantara steering wheel, featuring silver diamond markings at 12 o’clock, as well as Audi badges and floor mats adorned with RS logos.
Still just as powerful
The Audi RS e-tron GT Ice Race Edition is a limited edition, with only 99 copies available on the European market. The base model of this edition is the RS e-tron GT, equipped with 598 ch.
Although the price of this limited edition has not been specified by Audi, it should be noted that the Audi RS e-tron GT is sold in France at the price of 148 840 euros. This special edition will certainly be priced at a few thousand euros more.
