Speeding: his explanation struggles to convince the police

Let the one who has never done the slightest speeding offense throw the first stone at us. Although this is obviously strictly prohibited and punishable by law, we all sometimes make a small deviation, most of the time completely involuntarily. And there, you have to cross your fingers not to get caught and risk losing points and pay a fine. But this does not seem to scare some people, who do not hesitate to put themselves in danger, without real reasons. And if you are a loyal reader of our website, you probably know this. Well here is yet another new story that is unusual to say the least.

A big speeding violation

The latter took place on Sunday September 10, on the RN174 near Cavigny, near Saint-Lô in Normandy. This is what the Gendarmerie de la Manche reports on its Facebook page. The police are carrying out routine checks when they see a car traveling at 193 km/h instead of 100 km/h, since it is still on a probationary license, aged 20 years. Without a second thought, the gendarmes intercept the driver and ask him for some explanations, especially since he is carrying his partner and a baby barely a year old in his car.

An astonishing explanation

And the least we can say is that the reason for this speeding is quite confusing. The driver is unfazed and explains that he was going to a family reunion and that he was late to eat his piece of cake. He will therefore have to go there on foot, since his driving license was immediately withdrawn. The gendarmerie takes the opportunity to remind that “ who wants their piece of cake, respect the signs“. A touch of humor that the young man will remember.
