The Jeep Wrangler is making its thermal comeback!

If you follow automotive news at all, you probably know that thermal cars have not really been on the rise for several years. In fact, all manufacturers are today turning to electrified engines, under pressure from the European Union as well as public authorities. And this should not improve, since Brussels will ban the sale of thermal models from 2035 throughout the territory. So obviously, brands are preparing and slowly banning internal combustion cars from their catalog.

A big comeback

This is also the case for more unexpected manufacturers, like Jeep. The brand even lifted the veil a few months ago on its first electric car, the Avenger, voted Car of the Year 2023. But the American brand has been offering plug-in hybrid cars, like the Wrangler, for several years now. So much so that the latter is now only sold in this version on the Old Continent, to the great dismay of purists. But this is changing. Indeed, the restyled version will indeed arrive in Europe, a few months after its reveal. And the latter will be available in 100% thermal and Europe.

But not with us

This version will be sold alongside the PHEV and features a 2.0-liter four-cylinder gasoline engine with 272 horsepower and 400 Nm of torque. Thus, the 4X4 should be able to compete head-on with the Ford Bronco, among others. This variant without the slightest electrification will not, however, be sold everywhere. Indeed, Germany, Spain, Italy and Poland will benefit from it, but not France who will have to settle for the plug-in hybrid as at present.
