Artist Transforms Land Rover Series 2 into a Stunning Work of Art

This 1966 Land Rover Series 2A has undergone an extraordinary metamorphosis. While most custom cars are designed for practical use, this particular model served as the canvas for a team of artists from Lisbon to craft a remarkable piece of art.

Coolnvintage, the collective behind the project, meticulously restored the Land Rover Series 2A before entrusting it to artist Ana Malta. She dedicated a full day to painting it in vibrant, colorful style, turning it into a true masterpiece.

Land Rover Series 2A: A Canvas for Art

This isn’t the first time Coolnvintage has transformed a Land Rover into a work of art. Previously, the artists worked on a Land Rover Defender, with the chassis painted by Vasco Costa five years earlier. This time, they chose an old Series 2A as their canvas.

For Coolnvintage, this project represents more than just a painted vehicle. “We believe that art is not limited to galleries, but flourishes wherever creativity touches the ordinary. Our vintage Land Rovers, each with its own story, are objects” perfectly suited for artistic expression, explained Ricardo Silva Pessoa, a member of Coolnvintage.

Functional Art

According to Ana Malta, this “Land Rover was more than a vehicle, it was a blank canvas, ready to be explored”, added Ricardo Silva Pessoa. While the vehicle has now become a true work of art, it is still functional for everyday use.

This artistic customization by Ana Malta covers only a portion of the Land Rover: its rear canvas. The remaining parts remain unpainted, retaining their original green color. The artist’s vivid and colorful work gives it an almost psychedelic style.
