Time is running out to participate in the Sdis vehicle auction of Orne. The auction will conclude on Friday, November 10, 2023. Whether you are a professional or an individual, you can acquire a fire engine, an ambulance, or a standard car. There are approximately twenty vehicles available for sale due to their advanced age.

Despite being no longer brand new, these vehicles are still in good condition and can easily be put to use once again. Lieutenant Colonel Foltzer-Mazzola provided insights into the reasons for their sale: “After 15 to 20 years, these vehicles become old and no longer meet reliability criteria.”

Althoughthey may not be as efficient as they once were during emergency responses, with a few adjustments, these vehicles can still fulfill the needs of professionals or individuals. As the lieutenant colonel affirms: “When you need them, they have to start like clockwork as soon as you turn the key”.

10,000 Euros per Truck

All the vehicles on sale are functional, and the price to become the owner is approximately 10,000 euros. According to the lieutenant, some professionals will purchase them, refurbish and make repairs to potentially reuse them. For instance, large capacity tank trucks can be utilized for watering green spaces. They are sold without a flashing light or Sdis label, as it is illegal to drive with this equipment.

The starting price is less than 1,000 euros. After 50 auctions, the final amount to be paid is now around 10,000 euros. The sales will fund the operation of the auction service and reinvestment in new equipment and vehicles. So, are you ready to bid and become the owner of a full-sized fire truck?
