Renault is preparing an electric car even smaller than the R5 E-Tech

At Renault, there will soon be the R5 E-Tech and the R4, two “remakes” of two historic models in a 100% electric version, but there will also be a smaller model which should, this time, be well offered below 25,000 euros.

According to Reuters, this new Renault will be unveiled in the coming days at an event for the French brand’s Ampere division.

The first information

According to the first rumors, this little Renault will be shorter than the R5 E-Tech and will be manufactured in the Novo Mesto factory in Slovenia. It will enter production in 2026 and could be one of the most important models in the range. Remember that Renault aims to produce 600,000 electric cars per year by 2026 and one million by 2031.

There is no information yet on its technical characteristics, its design and its on-board technologies, but in any case, it should be positioned in the A segment, which suggests a starting price around 20,000 to 25,000 euros. Enough to counter in particular the future Citroën ë-C3 from 19,900 euros which will arrive in 2025.

A busy 2024 for Renault

2024 will be a pivotal year for Renault, with the presentation and marketing of the famous R5 E-Tech. At the same time, Renault will also launch the marketing of the Scénic E-Tech, also a 100% electric model.
