WWCOTY: here are the candidates for the car of the year award

The year 2024 is approaching fast, bringing with it the return of the season of automobile competitions and awards. One of the most prestigious awards is the Car of the Year, which was won last year by the Jeep Avenger, following the Kia EV6. Additionally, there is another competition gaining momentum – the one organized by the WWCOTY (Women’s World Car of the Year), which crowned the Kia Niro as the winner last year, after previously awarding the Peugeot 308.

The journey to crown the World’s Best Cars of 2024 has officially begun, and excitement is in the air!

Which candidates?

The jury, consisting entirely of women automotive journalists, will once again be responsible for selecting the best cars of the year, starting with category winners before naming the overall winner. The final winner will be announced on March 8, on International Women’s Rights Day. Currently, there are 63 finalists, including sports cars like the Aston Martin DB12 and Ferrari Purosangues, as well as more mainstream models. Among them are three French cars – the Citroën ë-C4 X, the Peugeot e-3008, and the Renault Espace.

International jury

The ultimate winner will be chosen by the 75 women who make up the competition jury, representing 52 countries around the world. WWCOTY was established in 2009 in New Zealand by journalist Sandy Myhre, now an honorary member. This year, the election will be overseen by a committee consisting of four jury members: Ayça Çizer, Beatriz Núñez, Sabrina Parant, and Tanya Gazdik. Stay tuned for the results in early 2024!
