New Renault Twingo (2026): price, range, power… everything about the new city car

The new Renault Twingo has just been unveiled by the Ampère entity. Here’s everything you need to know about this new city car.

Renault intends to build around the Ampère range, a catalog of 7 electric models by 2031. At the entry level, we will have the Renault Twingo arriving less than €20,000 but not before 2026.

Become the leader in Europe

It is on occasion of a large conference press that the Renault group presented the strategy of its new entity: Ampere. The goal of this new entity: develop the part that focuses on electric cars around the world.

Among the new features expected in the years to come, Ampère presented the brand new Renault Twingo. The latter will be worth less than 20 000 euros (before subsidy) or €100 per month, and will directly challenge the planned Citroën ë-C3, in “lite” version at €19,990, for 2025.

Average consumption of 10 kWh/100 km

In order to propose an attractive price the new Renault Twingo will have a lower range than the largest zero-emission cars can offer.

However, Renault CEO Luca de Meo announced an average consumption of 10 kWh/100 km. This should allow future users to benefit of autonomy more than decent despite a battery smaller.

The new Twingo will be assembled and Europe and will take up the concept of Gigacasting of Tesla. Here, the goal is to mold large pieces in one piece.

A recognizable design

Renault presented a concept car of the future Renault Twingo, during the conference. In short, this means that the design will be changed by its commercialization in 2026.

Of the first seconds where we observe the future Twingo, we recognize the guideline of the very first Twingo which dates from 1992.

Small difference however, this model is presented with a car five doors, and not three as usual. Finally, we observe round front headlights but in version 100 % LED.

A the interior from the passenger compartment, we should find an infotainment system rather evolved. And for good reason, a new partnership with Google and Qualcomm has been sign. For its part, Renault promises software updates regular.
