This Porsche Targa was abandoned in the streets of Paris!

This Porsche Targa has seen years of difficult life. From the 1990s, it was left abandoned in the streets of Paris.

An old model of Porsche 2.2S Targa was featured in an auction organized by Aguttes. Produced in 1971, it would have been abandoned for many years in the streets of Paris before being transferred to a garage for around twenty years. Obviously his owner didn’t like him very much.

Today, however, it is resurfacing, despitea visibly deplorable state. Its estimate is not very high, since it is only set at the level of 25,000 to 30,000 euros. For a Porsche model, this price is very low. However, it must be taken into consideration that it has not been driven for 20 years and requires restoration.

A Porsche 911 2.2S put on sale for just 30,000 euros

This Porsche model comes from the Targa line introduced by the German manufacturer at the end of the 1960s. At the time, rumors circulated that the United States wanted ban convertible cars on its territory. To get around this problem, Porsche then developed a Targa roof for its 911s.

With a steel roll cage and a removable roof on its Targa, Porsche was in no danger of losing the American market. The manufacturer took the opportunity to install a more powerful 2.2 liter engine on its new 911 model. Thus, the Porsche 911 2.2S Targa were faster and more efficient than the previous 911s.

A vehicle in a very sad state

Usually, Porsche Targas from the 1970s are not the most sought-after models by collectors. Which explains why their price is not always very high compared to other sports cars of the time. However, this model is proposed to a particularly low price. This estimate is, in reality, linked to the difficult years of life that this Porsche has experienced.

In the 1990s, it was in fact completely abandoned in the streets of Paris. She was like this exposed to bad weather and the risk of vandalism. It was only housed in a garage from the beginning of the 2000s. But it has not been used since this move. It is finished in its original color, Signal Orange, and benefits from a black interior. On the other hand, the original engine has long since disappeared, which has also lowered the value of the vehicle.
