An incredible collection of vintage cars is discovered in a castle

This Californian castle hides an incredible collection of vintage cars from another time. Some models have become rare.

Discovering abandoned cars is not common. So when it comes to vehicles dating back several decades, the finds are all the more exciting. This is what happened recently produced in California. An urban explorer stumbled upon an entire collection of vintage cars in a castle.

The place of discovery is more precisely Rubel Castle, a building with a surprising history. It was built between 1959 and 1986 by a certain Michael Clarke Rubel. Far from being a castle like any other, it was made by volunteers using concrete, but also a whole bunch of random objects found.

In addition to concrete, Rubel Castle was built with pieces of bottle, metal, stones or even pairs of boots. Today, Michael Clarke Rubel is dead and management of the place has been given to the Glendora Historical Society. And inside there is a treasure trove made up of numerous models of cars from another time.

In this collection there are vehicles of all kinds. It contains, in particular, a Harley Davidson from 1947, which has been completely abandoned. It is also possible to see an old Mercedes 300C, a model built in 1957. In addition, tractors and utility vehicles were left in shambles in the surrounding area. A real treasure for vintage car lovers.

An original car enthusiast

Some of these vehicles have great historical value. For example, the Harley Davidson would be worth almost 40,000 euros, according to Motortrend. Another surprising car is a Studebaker Commander Brougham GJ Six from 1929. The collection also includes a Ford Tudor. Models that it has become rare to observe.

Besides the car collection, the place is strange in itself. It would have hosted some A-list celebrities, such as Prince Philipdirector Alfred Hitchcock and former US president Dwight Eisenhower. As for the reason so many rare cars are there, it is simply because Michael Clarke Rubel was a car enthusiast. He had more than 70 models!
