Before its retirement, the Huracan continues to make us dream, today with a special edition which pays tribute to the 10 years of the Squadra Corse, Lamborghini’s competition department…
She is the descendant of the legendary Gallardo, and even of the Jalpa and the Urraco if we look further: the Huracan at Lamborghini ensures the “entry level” of the brand since 2014. If we speak in quotation marks, it is because, for an entry level, it is already very radical, in the pure Lamborghini tradition. Sporty two-seater, designed for the track and racing, it is at least equipped with a 640 horsepower V10 engine in its basic configuration! But, 9 years after its introduction, it is preparing to say goodbye. His departure will also mark the cessation of the V10 engine at Lamborghini, its replacement being planned only with a hybrid gasoline/electric engine…There were several good reasons to say goodbye with great fanfare, and Lamborghini made no mistake…
Let’s quickly recall how its range is structured: the Huracan is available in four different versionswhich all share the same block and the same power levels. L’Evo Spyder is the ultimate sports roadster, the Technique is a sort of Grand Tourer as playful as it is comfortable on a daily basis, the STO is the most radicalsporty and bodybuilder of all and finally the Dirt Road is a muscular and enhanced version, which plays a crossover role. We can now add a 5e version: the STO SC 10th Anniversary. Bless you ! Behind this barbaric name, this unique example celebrates the 10 years of the Squadra Corse, the competition department of Lamborghini, which offered it more than 50 GT3 championship victories, and three consecutive victories at the 24 Hours of Daytona in the GTB category.
For this one-off, Lamborghini was inspired by the competition models of the Squadra Corse. Starting with the colors already: Green Mantis (vert) and Black Night (noir), the same livery that will adorn the Lamborghini SC63 in 2024. Racing stripes in the colors of the Italian flag and a model-specific logo have been added, alongside several carbon elements to make it more aggressive. On the mechanical side, the brand has equipped this Huracan adjustable shock absorbers derived from those used in racingof a Akrapovic exhaust system and new tires developed in collaboration with Bridgestone. The chassis settings have been modified, and reworked aerodynamics to tie it even more to the road. This Huracan STO SC 10° Anniversario will of course not be marketed, but it should be exhibited during the next sporting events of the Squadra Corse. A beautiful mark of gratitude!
