Elvis Presley’s Lincoln Continental goes up for auction

One of the old cars of the king of rock n’ roll, Elvis Presley was put on sale for an exorbitant price. This vehicle is a Lincoln Continental Mark V de 1977 white. It had been bought by the star to offer it to Ginger Alden, his fiancee. Unlike many old cars, this one was not found abandoned in a garage.

It was well preserved in the Elvis Presley Museum in Memphis, in Tennessee (United States). Although it has probably gone a little out of fashion, this Lincoln Continental remains a beautiful and precious object collectible. It has been completely restored and benefits from a luxurious design, well suited to the tastes of Elvis Presley.

This Lincoln Continental Mark V has the particularity of being equipped with a steel roof and white leather interior. The cabin is also lined with red carpet, which gives it an appearance that is as luxurious as it is vintage. The icing on the cake: a Cartier clock is inside. The vehicle also benefits from air conditioning and beautiful wooden finishes.

A complete restoration was carried out to restore the car’s shine. The restoration work includes a new custom exhaust, new windshield, new tires and new paint. To prove the authenticity of the car, documents stating that it was owned by Ginger Alden in 1977 accompany the sale. A letter was also written by the original seller.

An exceptional auction

Given the history of this car, it is clear that it did not negotiate at a low price. It was offered for sale by Julien’s Auctions, as reported The Sun. His estimate was incredible for a Lincoln Continental: more than 320,000 euros! The sale took place in Los Angeles on November 18.

However, the results of this auction have not been communicated. If a new buyer managed to get their hands on this exceptional vehicle, they then had the chance to leave with an object that had passed into the hands of one of music’s biggest stars American. Other items that belonged to Elvis Presley were also up for sale.
