Only 42,400 km and already a problem on his C5 Aircross!

Our reader Patrick’s summer was ruined by the breakdown affecting his C5 Aircross. In addition, he does not understand that Citroën leaves part of the costs to his responsibility, his vehicle being recent and showing low mileage.

For some motorists, the summer of 2023 was much hotter than for others. Patrick O., a loyal reader from Cadaujac (33), is one of those who broke down with their car just as vacation time was coming. At the end of July, its C5 Aircross 1.5 BlueHDi 130 of 2020 starts to emit thick black smoke from the exhaust.

Our reader then immediately makes an appointment with the Citroën agent who has taken care of the maintenance of this SUV since its acquisition. The diagnosis of the man of the art blames the injectors. And Patrick is sent, unceremoniously, to the nearest dealership.

Forced immobilization

He will not be able to examine this C5 Aircross only a month later. During this time, no solution is offered to Patrick for his travels, which already makes him quite angry. At the end of August, the dealership establishes a quote for 3 672 € for the change of the four injectors, thus confirming the agent’s verdict. In the process, Citroën offers to cover this intervention up to 80%.

Patrick, however, does not understand why he has to pay 734 € due to a failure which he considers very early given the age and mileage of his C5 Aircross. Especially since this prolonged immobilization has also caused him harm. In fact, he had to rent a vehicle, less comfortable than his Citroën, in order to travel.
