Tesla Model 3: last in technical inspection

The most recent TUV report ranks the Tesla Model 3 at the bottom of the list for technical inspections.

If Tesla was in a dire situation just a few years ago, it seems like a distant memory. This change is credited to the success of the Model 3, an affordable sedan that allowed the manufacturer to become profitable and achieve great success. Then came the Model Y, solidifying the American firm’s position as the top electric vehicle manufacturer worldwide. The Model 3 is also among the best-selling cars in the French and European markets, due to its favorable price and ecological bonus benefits.

Not a lot of worries

A recent ranking conducted by the German organization TÜV (Technischer Überwachungsverein) has placed the Tesla Model 3 at the bottom of the list for cars that pass technical inspections. The Model 3 had a failure rate of 14.7%, significantly higher than the average, and ranked last among the 111 cars that were tested. This pushes the Model 3 below the Dacia Logan.

What issues does the Tesla Model 3 have?

So, what are the most common criticisms of the electric sedan? The main issues are related to suspension wear and brake pads rusting over time, resulting in decreased braking effectiveness and potentially dangerous driving conditions. These concerns were also noted in the German organization’s previous report.
