These fuel thieves had amazing technique

A father and son have been arrested after stealing more than €30,000 worth of fuel in a surprising method.

The price of fuel is still very high, and nothing seems to suggest that a drop will occur in the coming weeks. And for good reason, the Israeli-Palestinian conflict which continues still has an impact on the increase in prices, as does the war in Ukraine. Not to mention the fact that demand still remains very high and that oil-producing countries are voluntarily reducing their exports in order to maintain a very high price. Added to this is also the very high taxation, with taxes representing no less than 60% of the price per liter.

An original method

Petrol and diesel have been flirting with the two euro mark for several months, and this should not stop immediately. Thus, fuel thefts have been increasing for several months throughout France and the police are overwhelmed. A few days ago, two thugs were once again arrested in the town of Dolus-d’Oléron. It’s about a father and his son aged around twenty, already unfavorably known to the police. The latter were then caught red-handed stealing fuel from Intermarché.

High damage

To carry out their misdeeds, the two accomplices disconnected the computer system from the pump to empty it and fill tanks hidden in a utility vehicle. All in a very discreet manner. But the brand noticed that its stocks were mysteriously empty and alerted the gendarmerie, who caught the two thugs. In total, these are more than 30,000 euros of fuel which were stolen. Both face seven years in prison and a 100,000 euro fine.
