Mini Aceman: the future electric SUV will soon be revealed

The British manufacturer is preparing a new electric SUV: the Mini Aceman has just completed its development tests in extreme climatic conditions.

Photos of the new electric SUV still camouflaged

Announced in the summer of 2022 with an eponymous concept car, the Mini Aceman will soon become reality, during the year 2024. The British manufacturer has just presented some photos of its new 100% electric urban SUV currently undergoing testing, still camouflaged.
“The all-electric Mini Aceman opens up new opportunities for customers who want a smaller crossover than our popular Mini Countryman. The consistent electrification of our model range represents a decisive step forward for the future of the Mini brand”declared Stefanie Wurst, Director of Mini, on this occasion.
It is in the sand and dust of the desert that the new Mini Aceman has just finished its development tests, after its winter tests spent in the Arctic Circle. In these conditions of extreme sun and heat, at temperatures of up to 50 degrees, the brand’s engineers tested the air conditioning, battery charging and cooling, as well as the electric powertrain.

Mini Aceman: the first official information

Long de 4,075 metersall 1.754 meters wide and 1.495 meters high, the Mini Aceman is an urban electric SUV with four doors, a large tailgate and five seats on board. It will be positioned in the range between the Mini Cooper and the Mini Countryman, and will display “a high level of comfort and versatility”according to Mini.
Under the hood, the future Aceman will only be offered with a 100% electric engine, associated with a battery with a capacity of 54.2 kWh (raw), similar to that of the Mini Cooper SE. The British firm has not given further details on this subject, but the Aceman could have the same technical characteristics as the Mini Cooper SE, which has a 218 horsepower (160 kW) engine for a range of around 400 km, according to the WLTP cycle.
No images of the interior have been revealed yet, but Mini specifies that its future SUV offers “maximum interior space with contained exterior dimensions, short overhangs and characteristic driving dynamics”. Enough to offer enough space for the five passengers and their luggage, while maintaining a nice compactness.

The future Mini Aceman will be officially presented in the coming months, and will be made in China by Spotlight Automotive, a joint venture between BMW-Mini and Great Wall Motor. The model is also expected to be produced in Oxford, UK from 2026.
