Rolls-Royce: 4 unique cars to celebrate the Year of the Dragon

To celebrate the arrival of the Year of the Dragon, Rolls-Royce’s Bespoke department has produced 4 unique examples based on Phantom Extended and Cullinan.

The Year of the Dragon in the spotlight at Bespoke

To mark the transition to the lunar new year, with the Year of the Dragon which will begin on February 10, 2024, Rolls-Royce just presented four custom-made creations by its advanced customization department: Bespoke. In total, three copies of the Phantom Extended and one copy of the Cullinan is adorned with unique details, designed and handcrafted at the brand’s headquarters in Goodwood, United Kingdom.
“Rolls-Royce Motor Cars leads the luxury sector by creating products inspired by international cultures and traditions, incorporating designs, patterns, materials and colors that resonate and have real personal meaning for our customers”declared on this occasion Jonathan Simms, Head of the Bespoke service at Rolls-Royce Motor Cars: “These Bespoke creations, inspired by the Year of the Dragon in 2024, celebrate the international reach and influence of Chinese culture, which transcends national borders. These magnificent automobiles are therefore intended for customers based on three continents. These designs are both a powerful expression of our respect for Chinese culture and a contemporary, minimalist statement, in line with the trends we are seeing among luxury consumers around the world. »
Models made to measure by Rolls-Royce Bespoke are inspired by the dragona legendary creature symbolizing power, success and prosperity: a theme hitherto unpublished by the British manufacturer.

Rolls-Royce: new tailor-made creations

Outside, the cars are adorned with unique paintings : a two-tone Cherry Red/Selby Gray color with a Crystal finish for the Cullinan, and a two-tone Silver gray and Cherry Red or Black Monolithic Black paint with a Crystal finish for the Phantom Extended. All models are distinguished by a hand-painted Phoenix Red style line, incorporating a dragon motif oriented to the right, to symbolize the East, the direction of the rising sun.
Inside, the common point between these models is the presence, on the dashboard, of a panel representing a hand painted red dragon. This work of art, produced in several layers, represented more than two weeks of work. We also find other references to the dragon in the passenger compartment, such as on the seats which have embroidery representing a dragon, and made by hand with no less than 5,449 stitches. THE tablets located on the back are also personalized with the circular Chinese zodiac calendar, as well as a bespoke artwork depicting the dragon.
Finally, a custom Rolls-Royce signed Bespoke wouldn’t be one without the famous starry roof sky : this features 667 luminous stars made from optical fiber, as well as 677 points representing an abstract dragon pattern. One of the copies, intended for a Chinese customer, has red stars on it.

As usual with Rolls-Royce, the manufacturer has not revealed the price of these tailor-made models for its most privileged customers.
