This time, more than 2 million Teslas have been recalled!

Tesla is recalling over 2 million vehicles in the United States due to the NHTSA deeming the turn signal characters too small, posing a potential risk of accidents. Despite no reported incidents, Tesla is offering a remote software update to resolve the issue and avoid inconvenience to owners.

Because nothing should be taken lightly

Tesla, the forefront of the electric vehicle industry, is facing a major recall affecting 2.2 million vehicles in the United States. The recall was issued due to the size of the characters used for the indicators on the vehicle screen, which were deemed too small by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). The agency identified a potential risk related to the difficulty in deciphering safety-critical information, with the fear that such a policy could increase the risk of accidents. While Tesla claims no knowledge of any incidents or injuries resulting from this problem, the NHTSA is taking preventive measures to minimize potential risks.

A remote update and the problem is solved

Tesla’s solution to address this situation involves a remote software update, eliminating the need for Tesla owners to physically visit a service center to resolve the readability issue. This measure aims to avoid inconvenience to the owners of these vehicles. It’s worth noting that this recall affects the majority of Teslas on American roads, covering a range of models from the latest Cybertruck to established models such as the Model X, Model Y, Model S, and Model 3.

Nothing very worrying

Recalls, although potentially concerning, are relatively common in the automotive world. In 2023, Tesla had to recall 363,000 vehicles in the United States due to issues with the “fully autonomous driving” function. This demonstrates the importance placed on safety by regulatory authorities and car manufacturers. Remote software updates should quickly resolve this situation without requiring complex physical interventions from Tesla owners.
