Will the Koenigsegg Jesko become the fastest production car?

Koenigsegg wants to break the production car speed record with the Jesko Absolut. It could reach 530 km/h.

Koenigsegg could she beat the speed record with a production car? In any case, this is what its founder, Christian von Koenigsegg, wishes. The Swedish business leader recently told the media Carp that he intends to shatter this record with the Jesko Absolutely.

This announcement was made as the marketing and delivery of the Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut has just begun. A first copy was delivered to a customer in Switzerland. According to the manufacturer’s manager, this is the perfect time to prove that the Jesko Absolut is the most efficient car of the brand, but also of the world.

Koenigsegg wants to shatter its own record for the world’s fastest production car

According to Christian von Koenigsegg, the current record for the fastest production car in the world is held by his company with theAct RS. In 2017, this supercar reached a speed of 447.19 km/h. Since then, this record has been beaten by SSC Tuatara. But for the business manager, the latter does not hold, to the extent that it was carried out with a car not approved for the road.

According to him, the same is true for the record broken with the Bugatti Chiron in 2019. On the contrary, he intends to smash his own 2017 record with a road-legal vehicle. This will then be an opportunity to demonstrate the speed of the Jesko Absolut, which is supposed to be around 530 km/h.

The Jesko Absolut, an exceptional supercar

The Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut is one of the most powerful supercars on the market. It is not new, since it was presented for the first time at Geneva International Motor Show in 2020. It features an incredible 1,600 horsepower, made possible with a 5.0-liter V8 engine.

For the moment, only simulations have been carried out. They make it possible to estimate the maximum speed of the Jesko at over 530 km/h. But it is unlikely that the supercar will be able to reach such impressive speeds in real-world conditions. For the moment Koenigsegg is looking a track which allows you to break the speed record with the Jesko Absolut. But according to its manager, it is not easy to find.
