Genesis GV70 Snow: ready for the mountains!

Higher, wider and equipped with large all-terrain tires, this Genesis GV70 Snow should allow you to reach the slopes without the slightest problem.

During the equestrian competition White Turf being held in St Moritz in Switzerland, the premium division of the Hyundai group unveiled a SUV GV70 not like the others. Named “Snow”, this concept is certainly not afraid of snow!

A taller and wider Genesis GV70!

Developed in collaboration with Delta 4×4 specializing in off-road accessories, this Genesis GV70 has been specially modified to be comfortable in all situations, but especially in the snow. The German company has in fact brought a whole series of modifications to the premium Korean SUV. First, they have raised its front ground clearance to expand its wings to be able to equip it with good large all-terrain tires from BF Goodrich. These new rubbers have also been mounted on more aggressive rims from Klassik B Rugged. Suffice to say that there is probably not much that can stop this GV70 Snow. And to carry everything you need before setting off on an adventure, Delta 4×4 also equipped this concept with a custom-made luggage rack with two LED bars measuring no less than 40 inches long! And to be truly certain not to lack visibility under any circumstances, Additional fog lights from Baja Design have also been added to the front bumper. Cherry on the cake, among the list of accessories, we find a pair of Anavon skis with a personalized look to match that of the SUV!

Diesel, gasoline or completely 100% electric?

Under this mountain of modifications hides a GV70 whose mechanics are in reality quite classic. Genesis does not specify, however, whether the 4.72 m long, 1.91 m wide, 1.63 m high SUV is powered by a 2.2 liter diesel with 148 kW (201 hp) and 440 Nm. or a 2.5-liter gasoline engine with 224 kW (304 hp) and 422 Nm. The first of its two mechanics allows the GV70 to reach 100 km/h in 7.9 s as well as a top speed of 215 km/h. The second engine allows the Korean SUV to go from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.1 seconds and climb to a maximum of 240 km/h. If this GV70 Snow is indeed thermal, there is also a 100% electric variant of the Korean SUV! Called Electrified GV70, it is equipped with a 77.4 kWh battery to claim up to 455 km of autonomy. The latter sends its ions to the 4 wheels of the SUV via two electric motors, one per axle, developing together 360 kW (490 hp) and 700 Nm of torque. A real cavalry which allows the electric GV70 to reach 100 km/h in 4.2 s and to reach 235 km/h. Once flat, its 800 V architecture and its maximum charging power of 240 kW allow it to go from 10 to 80% battery level in just 18 minutes.

Installed in Europe and more particularly in Germany, Switzerland and England for several years now, Genesis has unfortunately still not established itself in France… Fingers crossed that this changes in 2024.
