Mandatory new equipment: what are the deadlines?

Car manufacturers are required to equip their new cars with mandatory safety features in 2024. Let’s review these mandatory safety systems.

A total of ten security systems will be required for safety purposes. This new regulation aims to significantly reduce the number of deaths on European Union roads.

Will prices increase?

This measure, although restrictive, will apply to all new cars from July 7, 2024. Which technologies are mandatory from July 7, 2024?

Mandatory technologies from July 7, 2026?

The last two technologies will be mandatory in 2026. These include the detector of vulnerable road users and the extended pedestrian protection zone.

Given the long list of compulsory equipment, questions arise about how manufacturers will avoid increasing the price of their vehicles in the European market.

Although the European Parliament estimates that the additional costs will be low. This seems unlikely…
